CCW Valentines Vendetta - An Overview

So here we are, the first show of the year already out of the door, its been a loooong winter. A quick catch up on late last year first...

The Sons of Silence fled CCW instead of showing up at The BIG One Chapter IV, which led to a playoff match with the top two ranked CCW stars; Big 50 and Keith Mathews, and a wildcard entry Mr Williams. In a close faught triple threat match, Keith Mathews pinned Mr Williams to become the new CCW Champion of Wales.

Following a defence of his title in a CCW Over the top rope Invitational he went on to face the number one contender, Big 50. After 50 duped the referee, he was awarded the belt and declared Mathews the loser. However the decision was overturned by CCW Chairman Mason Tombs and the match restarted, leading to Mathews winning the match. Big 50 was so enraged he simply couldn't enjoy new year. Cut to 2016...

Valentines Vendetta featured the best of the best in CCW. Golden Tiger defeated Mr Williams in his CCW debut following which The Unit lost a heavyweight contest against Big 50, following the match 50 challenged Keith Mathews to a title rematch, Keith accepted. A lightweight encounter came next which saw Seth Skyline, along with his mentor Dan Evans. His opponant would be the CCW Super 8 Champion, AJ Hughes. In an exciting bout AJ came out on top. In late 2015 AJ claimed he would cash in his Super 8 Cup for a title shot when people wouldn't expect it.

Next came the opening contest in the Tag Team Title Tournament. The team of G-Force and Rhys Reflex, representing the Chambers Family defeated Mason Tombs and Matt Burns. During the contest we saw the appearance of The Legion once again, fresh from their attack on Tombs in November, return and take out the already injured Mason. Which left Burns alone to be pinned. The Super Rematch Match came next, despite the feud of Dan Evans and Bert Bridge being over and done with back in August CCW managememt couldn't resist the urge to bring these two guys back in for one more match, however a different outcome would occur this time, Dan Evans picking up the win.

Main event time rolled around and saw Keith Mathews take on Big 50 once again. A back and forth match which saw no man take a clear advantage over the other. All seemed to be headed toward a stalemate, until the unexpected appearance of AJ Hughes midmatch. However this addition to the match couldn't have been better timed, as Keith captured AJ and hit his new finisher, the TKO and saw AJ off for the three count, ending the match and defending his title. Following the match Big 50 became enraged once again and attacked the CCW referee.

So that's all for this show, tune in for the next CCW show, coming to a town near you! (In North Wales!)
